Comments
When visitors post comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you use this. The Gravatar service's privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Upon approval of your comment, your profile picture will be visible to the public along with your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, you should refrain from uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the site can download and extract all location data from images on the site.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to store your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don't have to fill in your details again when you write another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and will be removed when you close your browser. When you log in, we will set a series of cookies and store your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen selection cookies last for one year. If you choose "Remember me", your login will last for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will disappear. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data and simply specifies the post ID of the article you have just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other sites
Articles on this site may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other sites behaves exactly the same as if the visitor had visited the other site. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with this embedded content, including tracking your interaction with embedded content if you have an account and a log in on that site.

Who we share your data with
How long we store your data
If you post a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically rather than having them in a moderation queue. For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide for their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (with the exception that they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit that information.
What rights do you have over your data?
If you have an account on this site, or have posted comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data that we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security reasons.
Where we send your data
Visitors' comments may be checked by an automatic spam recognition service.
