Our Wool

At Gry & Sif, we create imaginative works of art from 100% wool. Our wool comes from New Zealand, where we work closely with farmers who follow the guidelines of the New Zealand Animal Welfare Act.

Caring for the Animals

The Animal Welfare Act ensures that sheep receive the best possible care and live in conditions that accommodate their natural behavior and needs.

This includes, among other things:

  • Sheep may only eat grass or feed that has not been
    in contact with pesticides.
  • Farmers must ensure that sheep have access to ample
    protection and can go outside when the weather permits.
  • Sheep have plenty of space to move freely.
  • Sheep generally live in conditions that match their
    natural lifestyle and needs.
