Fair Trade - Created with the Heart for a Brighter Future

Nepal, a country with a magnificent culture but great challenges, is where our adventure begins. Here we work hand in hand with talented Nepali women to create a world of possibilities - one felted piece at a time.

We believe that the most beautiful things are created under the best conditions. That's why we work with a Fair Trade certification that ensures
fair wages, good working conditions and the opportunity to build a better
future. It's our way of saying thank you to the women who with their hands
bring our felted universe to life.

From hands to heart - and home

Our skilled artisans don't just get a salary; they get health insurance, bicycles and the flexibility to work from home to care for their children and build their family life. This means that every Gry
& Sif figurine is not just a decoration, but a small piece of a bigger story - a story of strength, hope and sustainability.

From supporting local projects and orphanages in Kathmandu to training new generations of artisans, we invest in the future of Nepal.

Small things, big difference

Fair Trade is about more than working conditions - it's
about people. It's about knowing that every stitch, every stitch and every little
detail is created with love and respect for those who make it possible.

So the next time you see a little mouse, an elegant flower or a member of our cute fox family, you can be sure it's much more than felt and wool. It's a dream of a brighter future - wrapped in charm and craftsmanship.

Techniques with both purpose and finesse

Our latest collections celebrate fine details. Each piece holds a little surprise - a new shape, a special finish or an extra layer of finesse. But there's more to design than aesthetics. In recent years, we have consciously worked with more advanced techniques and finer details, such as embroidery and needle felting - not only to please the eye, but to empower our artisans in Nepal. As part of our Fair Trade work, we continuously invest in skills development. We provide new challenges that enable our skilled craftsmen to develop professionally and grow with the tasks. At Gry & Sif, you can come as you are - without any special qualifications - and learn to felt from scratch. For many women, this is the first step towards a more stable everyday life and a secure income. It allows them to provide for their families, create structure and become part of a community. In this way, we not only create magical characters, but also new opportunities and lasting value wherever they are created.

Some of our artisans work from home and
specialize in knitting. They knit small details for our characters while
looking after the youngest members of the family. This gives them flexibility
- and the ability to combine family life with work.

Every time you choose a Gry & Sif figurine, you are
supporting something bigger. You're helping to spread smiles - both at home
and far away, in a little house in the mountains, where another little mouse is being
born in felt and imagination.

So the next time you see a fox with a violin, an eternal flower
or a felt bunny, you know it's much more than decoration. It's a little
piece of magic - handmade with care, pride and hope.
